For too long, violence in our communities has been met with the same response: refer the person on, hand it off, hope someone else picks it up. It hasn't worked. Referrals don't build safety. They don't strengthen culture. They don't change the conditions that let violence grow in the first place.

Prevention has to look different. It has to be community-led, culturally grounded, and structural — not reactive. This forum brings the people who are already doing the work into the same room as the decision-makers who shape it. Because if we're serious about ending violence in Western Sydney, we need to stop referring — and start preventing.
